A Driving While Intoxicated conviction can have permanent and far reaching personal, professional, and monetary consequences in your life.
Consequences can include one or many of the following: fines, court costs, license suspensions, driver's license surcharges and reinstatement fees, a breathalyzer in your vehicle, probation, community service, alcohol and drug classes, inpatient or outpatient treatment, higher insurance rates, separate SR 22 insurance, interstate and international travel restrictions, and jail time.
Punishment levels vary greatly depending upon the level of DWI you are charged with.
